Pitti and his friends are busy enjoying winter fun. Building a snowman requires a few ingredients. Schnatterinchen carries the carrot, Struppi the broom and Pittiplatsch completes the snowman with a proper top hat. Mr Fox and Mrs Magpie are getting ready to go sledging, while our Sandmännchen approaches at speed with a team of reindeer to bring the late-night activities to their predetermined end. Some of the figures play characteristic roles, such as the lace maker, who produces the finest lace, or the woodworker, who lays the foundations for toy production. Craftsmanship is an integral part of the Ore Mountains, as it has made this beautiful part of Germany famous. This Schwibbogen showcases the skills of Ore Mountain craftsmen. Armed with a wide range of tools, the pyramid builder stands in his own workshop and sets to work. The craftsmen, three in number, produce the artisan's most important product, the Schwibbogen. They saw, sand and build. Once the Schwibbogen is finished, some of them are beautifully painted. The Schwibbogen builders, the pyramid builders and the painters – all these wonderful professions are depicted in this arch in the finest detail.
