Pitti and his friends are busy enjoying winter fun. Building a snowman requires a few ingredients. Schnatterinchen carries the carrot, Struppi the broom and Pittiplatsch completes the snowman with a proper top hat. Mr Fox and Mrs Magpie are getting ready to go sledging, while our Sandmännchen approaches at speed with a team of reindeer to bring the late-night activities to their predetermined end. Even today, the Erzgebirge Logging Cup is still held annually. Participants use their horses to transport long tree trunks through an obstacle course. But there is also a return to tradition. Where heavy machinery cannot reach, horses are used again. On our candle arch, the wood has already been brought out of the forest and loaded onto a ladder wagon. The forester strides towards his pretty half-timbered house with his horse. The scene is effectively highlighted by indirect lighting. The coloured figures and four fir trees are made of solid wood.
