Pitti and his friends are busy enjoying winter fun. Building a snowman requires a few ingredients. Schnatterinchen carries the carrot, Struppi the broom and Pittiplatsch completes the snowman with a proper top hat. Mr Fox and Mrs Magpie are getting ready to go sledging, while our Sandmännchen approaches at speed with a team of reindeer to bring the late-night activities to their predetermined end. It has been enchanting visitors of all ages for almost 600 years. Particularly impressive is the world's largest Erzgebirge step pyramid in the centre of Dresden's Altmarkt. At 14.62 m high, it is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records. This pyramid is also the focal point of this replica. Stalls selling Erzgebirge folk art, baubles, Christmas stollen with stollen women and chocolate girls hint at the variety of temptations on offer at the Striezelmarkt, and the traditional barrel organ player is also there.
